The Springmoor Chaplain

Welcome

A healthy spiritual life is a high priority to many of the Springmoor residents. The continuation of one's spiritual life is encouraged through the association with a local church or temple of the residents choice. Residents also enjoy a variety of religious activities at Springmoor including vesper services, Bible study groups, interfaith dialogue and special observances.

As residents face long term or terminal illness and death, spiritual comfort and strength is offered by the Chaplain. Upon the death of a resident, the Chaplain is able to assist families with practical matters and to offer support. Subsequent bereavement support and counseling aid residents in coping with grief and loss.

The Chaplain interacts with residents offering spiritual guidance for daily living and support in times of need. On call on a 7 day 24 hour basis, the Chaplain responds to emergency and crisis calls. The presence of the Chaplain in times of need gives comfort to residents and their families.

All religous and related activities are strictly voluntary. The services of the Chaplain are extended in ways acceptable to each resident. If a resident prefers no Chaplaincy support, these wishes of the resident are respected and followed.

The Chaplaincy program is one of the many ways Springmoor promotes well-being and enhances the spiritual lives of Springmoor residents.
